Matti Breschel is a Danish classic rider from team Tinkoff-Saxo. In 2010 Matti managed to win the semi-classic Dwars door Vlaanderen. He also got close to some very big wins a few times he for example finished 2nd and 3rd once in the biggest one day race of them all: the World Championships. Some injuries have kept Breschel down a little in the previous years but he surely is ready to take a big one in 2014!

Back in May, VeloNation had the chance to sit down for half an hour with, at the time, 25 year old reigning Danish champion Matti Breschel. The Dane was fresh off of his best spring campaign yet, but one that could have been even better with just a little bit of reasonable luck.

Anche se era considerato come uno dei favoriti al Giro delle Fiandre e alla Paris-Roubaix, Matti Breschel è stato sfortunatissimo. Durante la classica belga, un cambio di bici non azzeccato e nella corsa sul pavé francese una caduta non hanno permesso al danese di giocarsi le sue carte.

At the tender age of 17, Matti Breschel left his home in Denmark to work as a model in New York City. At 20, he was signed by the ProTour team CSC and now, after a rocky 2006, finds himself among the peloton's top models.
