March 22nd: The first race of the Flemish campaign for Cannondale Pro Cycling, E3 Harelbeke is a hard introduction to northern Belgium. Freezing temperatures and a parcours that shares its route, and famed cobbled climbs like the Paterberg and Oude Kwaremont, with the Tour of Flanders it's no surprise that it's known as the "Little Ronde". A perfect prelude to the bigger Classics to come. After finishing second in Milan San Remo, Slovakian national champion Peter Sagan hopes to go one better, leading the team along with Italians Elia Viviani, Mauro Da Dalto, Alan Marangoni and Fabio Sabatini with further support from Ted King (USA) Kristijan Koren (Slovenia) and Maciej Bodnar (Poland).
Stay tuned and scream for green as the team now faces a stern test at Gent-Wevelgem (March 24th), Three Days of De Panne (March 26-28th) and finally the Tour of Flanders (March 31st).
