The 2013 Ladies Tour of Qatar is one day longer than in previous years and the first stage took the teams on a roughly triangular loop through the desert. Several favourites for the overall race, including Kirsten Wild, Elen van Dijk and Rochelle Gilmore were in a break of around 20 riders who managed to stay away from the peloton, with Hitec Products UCK rider Chloe Hosking just managing to hold off Gracie Elvin of Orica-AIS.
