Mario Cipollini will be affiliated with Team Katusha as an advisor next year. The former World Champion and top-sprinter of old will share his knowledge with the young and upcoming sprinters in Katusha's Global Project with the aim of positively influencing their results. An agreement for one year has been made.

Cipollini will be focusing on the physical, mental and tactical side of racing with Katusha's young riders. Andrei Tchmil is very happy with this development: “Our organization is becoming more and more structured: the experience of a former World Champion can’t be anything but useful” “Everybody knew his ability as a sprinter when he used to race, so I think his experience will prove to be a surplus value. He will be the master of our young, talented riders of our Global Project”.
