No Giro for Evans
Posted by: DZI (11 November 2010 16:02)
Cadel Evans will purely focus on the Tour de France this year. That in itself isn't news, but the ex-worldchampion will skip his home race - the Tour Down Under - this year, amongst others. The Giro d'Italia "is just too tough for me", as Evans wants to prevent getting to the start of the Tour de France too fatigued. That's why the Aussie's schedule will look much different compared to previous years. His 2011-campaign will start in Italy where the Tirreno - Adriatico will be his first official race. The exact route to the Tour is not yet known, although it is expected that Evans will ride the Flèche Wallonne - the race he gloriously won in 2010 - finishing on the Mur de Huy again this coming season.
