Flying down Strasbourg's Avenue Herrenschmidt and passing through the arrivée with a time of eight minutes seventeen, Thor Hushovd set a magnificent average speed of 51.429 kilometres per hour, surpassing 176 others and earning the right to wear the first maillot jaune of the 93rd Tour de France.
