Alberto Contador is considered to be one of the major promises of Spanish cycling. After his terrible accident in 2004 he quickly demonstrated his talent last year. After winning a stage in the Tour Down Under, he won the Semana Catalana after winning a mountain stage. He has demonstrated that he can compete with the best in the ProTour finishing among the first 5 in the Basque Country and the Tour de Romandie.
