Alla fine del Tour de France, con un nono posto come miglior risultato, Sonny Colbrelli si è detto che un altro grande Giro solo per tirare non lo farà più. Dopo il terzo posto ai campionati italiani, c’era da sperare che la Bahrain-McLaren lo portasse alla Grande Boucle per vincere una tappa o lottare per la maglia verde. Invece le parole dei manager sono state chiare: si va al Tour e si tira per Landa. Null’altro. E Colbrelli ha accettato, difficile capire se perché sprovvisto di alternative. Il suo Tour de France si è chiuso con l’11° posto a Parigi e il 93° posto in classifica finale a quattro ore e mezza da Pogacar.
