Dopo il Tour de France Luca Paolini ha disputato qualche circuito in Belgio, poi tra gli impegni con la nazionale e quelli di fine stagione non si è allenato troppo, tanto da ritrovarsi a novembre con quasi due mesi di inattività. Gli anni passano e il tempo corre, il Gerva lo sa bene e sta cercando di recuperare il tempo perso, anche a causa del maltempo.
