Ion Izagirre ha vivido un Giro de Italia “para olvidar”, “no he cumplido las expectativas”, reconoce autocrítico el corredor del Movistar Team, cuando tres semanas antes acudía con el objetivo de luchar por un puesto entre los diez primeros y ser protagonista, o al menos luchar por ganar una etapa –fue 7º en Vicenza y 11º en Campitello Matese y 27º en la General final-. El ciclista guipuzcoano, de 26 años, quería dar un paso adelante en su carrera y no ha podido en un Giro “cruzado” desde el principio hasta el final.
