When Specialized rider Lea Davison first found out she’d have to have surgery on her hip in January, she ran through the gamut of emotions: disbelief, acceptance, optimism, disappointment, and back around. But it wasn’t Davison’s first rodeo—she missed the entire 2010 season due to surgery on her other hip, then came back in 2011 to have her best season to date.

After six years racing as a professional mountain biker 25-year-old Lea Davison (Trek / VW) is starting to see results, winning both the short track and super D races at the Sea Otter Classic in April and a top twenty finish at the World Championships cross country race in Italy in June.
