Después de una de las carreras de carreras activas más largas en el deporte del ciclismo de montaña, Gunn-Rita Dahle Flesjå se está “retirando” aunque la leyenda del MTB ya espera nuevos y emocionantes desafíos junto a MERIDA BIKES. Tras el anuncio de su retirada hace apenas un mes, nos reunimos con Gunn-Rita para descubrir y aclarar un poco sobre sus planes y para averiguar si ella realmente puede estar sin tener un número de competición atado a su manillar.

Keine gute Saison für Gunn-Rita Dahle-Flesja. Ein Magen-Virus setzte die Norwegerin für den Großteil der Rennen außer Gefecht. Selbst beim Saisonhöhepunkt, der WM im schottischen Fort William, konnte die Titelverteidigerin nicht starten.

Voor wie Gunn-Rita nog niet kent. Deze vrouw heeft een enorme persoonlijkheid en ondanks dat ze Olympisch goud heeft gehaald tijdens de spelen in Athene en meervoudig wereldkampioene is, blijft ze met beide voeten op de grond staan. Haar reis naar de top is niet helemaal volgens het boekje verlopen, maar haar prestaties zijn dan ook uitzonderlijk.

Gunn-Rita Dahl splintered the women's race at the Sea Otter, opting to lead from the gun and leaving a string of solo chasers behind her. But she wasn't alone for long - she began catching the semi-pro riders that had been sent out ten minutes before the women!
