Challenge (reto, desafío) es una de las palabras que aparece con más frecuencia en una conversación con Annemiek van Vleuten. Annemiek van Vleuten werd woensdag in Zaltbommel voor het eerst gekroond tot tijdritkampioene van Nederland. De renster van Rabo-Liv zag het als de ultieme bekroning voor haar doorzettingsvermogen van de afgelopen seizoenen. Vandaag is ze opnieuw titelkandidaat in de wegwedstrijd.

In aanloop naar de Ronde van Overijssel, op 2 mei voor vrouwen en 3 mei voor mannen, blikken wij met een aantal deelnemers vooruit. Ditmaal met Annemiek van Vleuten. Voor Rabo Liv wielrenster Annemiek van Vleuten lijkt de Ronde van Overijssel een kolfje naar haar hand. De klassieker specialiste is na een vervelende blessure aan haar bovenbeen weer helemaal terug, zo bewees ze dit voorjaar onder meer wel met een vijfde plaats in zowel de Ronde van Drenthe als de Ronde van Vlaanderen, beiden wereldbeker wedstrijden.
