Until 2016, Marta Tagliaferro only rode for Italian teams. After two years at Cylance Pro Cycling, she joined Team Hitec Products – Birk Sport this season. Nel 2008, a diciott'anni e mezzo, Marta Tagliaferro è stata la più giovane partecipante al Giro d'Italia, poi concluso dignitosamente. Da Juniores, nel 2007, fu capace di conquistare ben tre maglie tricolori, una su strada, nella prova in linea, e due su pista (Scratch e Corsa a Punti).
